PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Coding for injections and infusions remains a complex task in many hospital and clinical settings. Despite their small section within the CPT codebook, these codes often present significant challenges for coding professionals. Adhering strictly to the specific guidelines for capturing these codes is crucial. Misreporting injection and infusion codes can lead to claim denials, audit failures, and compliance risks.

This webinar will address common questions and scenarios, including:

  • The hierarchy of intramuscular injections
  • Reporting multiple initial services
  • Diagnosis requirements for hydration services
  • Application of modifiers in hydration coding
  • Documentation requirements for IV push injections over 15 minutes
  • Coding for concurrent services with multiple substances
  • Coding protocols for infusions lacking a stop time

Join us to navigate these complexities and ensure accurate, compliant coding practices. This session includes hands-on coding exercises with various case scenarios, preparing you for audits involving these intricate codes. Ideal for both new and experienced coding professionals, managers, educators, and students, this webinar covers coding guidelines, CPT hierarchy, documentation, and more.
